DEATH OBITUARY : Tim Milnes, Longtime Bellarmine teacher dies in car crash

A longtime Belllarmine Preparatory School teacher died Tuesday in a car accident, school officials said. Tim Milnes, 60, was in his 29th year as a religion teacher at the Tacoma Catholic high school.

“We ask that the community please pray for Tim’s family, as well as for the students, faculty and staff during this time of great loss,” Bellarmine President Rob Modarelli said in a message to students, parents and alumni.

People are paying tribute on social media.

The world lost an amazing man today. I am truly shocked and heartbroken at this news. You were one of the greatest, most influential, and humble teachers Ive ever had. I feel so blessed to have known you. Thank you for making such an impact on my life, believing in me and my potential, and making even the worst days better! Rest in Peace, You will be so so missed Mr.Milnes.

I always enjoyed how you started your religion classes everyday with your beautiful singing and guitar playing. It never failed to brighten my day and that is something I will never forget. I know I can speak for not only myself but the majority of the rest of the Bellarmine community in saying he had a significant impact in many of our lives.

Please pray for Timothy Milnes, a great former high school teacher, and his family. He was a huge part of my four years at Bellarmine as he was my homeroom teacher all four years, religion teacher for two years and I had the privilege of being his TA. Thank you for everything Mr Milnes RIP ❤️
