DEATH OBITUARY : Kaelin Kersh , MSU Women’s Track and Field’s Killed in Auto Accident

Mississippi State track and field athlete Kaelin Kersh died in a car accident on Sunday morning. She was 22 years old.

Kersh graduated from Mississippi State on Friday with a degree in kinesiology and health fitness studies and is from Pearl, Mississippi. The school’s track and field coach Steve Dudley and athletic director John Cohen both put out statements on Kersh.

“I will always remember Kaelin by her incredible smile,” Dudley said. “Kaelin always had a positive attitude and this was contagious to everyone around her. Kaelin was a member of the most successful era of women’s track and field at Mississippi State and that was largely due to the tight bond between her and her teammates. We all loved her, and Kaelin will remain in our hearts forever. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the entire Kersh family and to the other families involved.”

Mississippi State track athlete Kaelin Kersh has died following a car crash early this morning. Kaelin had just graduated on Friday.
MSU spokesperson has confirmed the news. Kersh was a middle distance runner & sprinter for MSU Track. She is from Pearl.
