Obituary : Toby Smith, Jamiroquai Founding Member, Dies at 46

April 14 : 2017
Founding member and ex-keyboardist of the band Jamiroquai died of cancer at the age of 46. Strength and love goes out to his family and friends.
This guy was the one that wrote and brought you piano solo's in songs like 'Too Young To Die', 'Blow Your Mind', 'Half The Man' and many more.
Another founding member and ex-bass player of Jamoriquai Stuart Zender made this touching compilation of his musical buddy . . .

People are paying tributes on the social media .
Remembering our dear friend Toby Smith, a brilliant musician who we had the pleasure of working with for years as the owner of Angelic Studios. Our thoughts go out to all his family and friends. #RIP #TobySmith

I remember the first time Dj Onionz introduced us to Jamiroquai, because that's how we found new music, even in the early 1990's, it was from digging in the crates on our own and following the dj's with our underground families. Toby Smith RIP sir, and thanks for the memories!.

Me and Jason Thomas used to clean the apartment with Jamiroquai's first 3 albums and some B-sides and shit on shuffle. Toby Smith was composer and, quiet as it is kept, co-producer of much of the band's output during his tenure. I met Toby and the rest of the band at the Wood Gallery for a 'Space Cowboy' release party. Waitied on them at Tower; hung out after the shows; The classic lineup of that band will always remain one of my favorite groups. JT had picky tastes but Jamiroquai on a road trip or a good zone-out was never inappropriate. :-D
Jah rest your soul, Toby... JT, take care of our homie.

Our sincerest condolences go out to Toby Smith's family, friends, and musical collaborators. He will be missed.
