WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. (WKYT) - Kentucky State Police is investigating a situation that left three people dead and another person injured in an officer-involved shooting.
It happened late Friday night in the Savoy community just off U.S. 25 near Williamsburg.
Whitley County Sheriff Colan Harrell confirms to WKYT that the victims are Larry Taylor and his two children. Taylor's wife, Courtney Taylor, was injured after being shot by a Whitley County sheriff's deputy, according to Harrell. She is currently being treated for her injuries at Baptist Health in Corbin.
Harrell says the deputy was called out to the Taylor's home to investigate the scene and found Larry Taylor and his two children dead. Harrell says his deputy saw Courtney Taylor raise a gun in his direction, then shot her.
Sheriff Harrell says all signs point toward Courtney Taylor being the one that killed Larry Taylor and the children.
Kentucky State Police is continuing the investigation.
