According to the criminal complaint, David Pesci’s relationship with the girl began when she started attending a youth group when she was 14. Pesci, 24, was her youth pastor at the East Brady First Baptist Church in East Brady Borough.
The girl told New Bethlehem police they began exchanging text and Facebook messages less than a year ago when she had a fight with her best friend and sought advice from Pesci.
The criminal complaint states the juvenile became very close to Pesci and that she would regularly spend the night at his home, along with other youth group members and Pesci’s wife.
The girl told police that the first time Pesci kissed her was in his basement, when she was staying at his house with other youth group members. The complaint states Pesci kissed the girl before she went to sleep.
Pesci asked the girl how she felt after the kiss and she stated, “I don’t know.”
The girl told police since that night the kissing continued, mentioning she could recall Pesci kissing her on two separation occasions near the pulpit of the church, during a youth group meeting and also at a park. She told police Pesci touched her sexually on the outside of her clothing during the occasion in the park in August.
Pesci was arrested Monday. His charges include sexual assault by a sports official, volunteer or employee of a nonprofit association and corruption of minors.
