Former Youth Pastor Robert John Weber , Pleads Guilty to Sexual Assault of a Child Charges

ODESSA – A former Odessa youth pastor has been sentenced after pleading guilty to sexual assault of a child charges.
We're told Robert John Weber pled guilty to nine counts of sexual assault of a child.
The charges relate to events occurring back in 2009 when Weber was a youth pastor at 2nd Baptist Church in Odessa.
As a result of the guilty plea, Weber was sentenced to 10 years deferred adjudication and 90 days in jail.
As part of his sentence, Weber can no longer work in churches or as a pastor.
The Ector County District Attorney tells NewsWest 9, the victim in the case fully supported the plea agreement and was glad Weber finally took responsibility for his actions. The victim also stated that the sentenced served justice and was appropriate in this case.
