Kuala Cangkoi, Indonesia : 800 Rohingya land in Indonesia while others 'face death at sea'

FROM THE UNHCR
We are hearing terrible stories of loss, hopelessness and trauma, as we help register hundreds of boat survivors - mostly women and children - in Indonesia.
"Our mother was killed in Myanmar, and our father is in Malaysia. We have no one back home so we want to look for our father in Malaysia." This little girl of 8 told us, as we registered her with her brother, 10, in Kuala Cangkoi, Indonesia. They had travelled on the boats alone, with their neighbour who they called 'uncle', but who was himself only 15.
The woman lying down, in Langsa, was in shock and could not stop crying - she had lost her 12 year old daughter at sea.
We are working tirelessly to do all we can for the survivors
