MT. MORRIS, MI — A former church pastor and ex-police chaplain was arraigned this week on charges he stopped a woman’s car while impersonating a traffic officer.
James James, 73, of Genesee Township was arraigned May 12 on a charge of impersonating a public officer, according to 67th District Court documents.
He was arrested in Mt. Morris May 6 after a 19-year-old woman complained that she was stopped at Mt. Morris and Walters streets by an unmarked vehicle.
Mt. Morris Police Chief Keith Becker said this was not then first time James is suspected of impersonating an officer.
