Pastor Robert Genevicz of Stratford Charged with Theft

BRIDGEPORT  – A former Stratford pastor, awaiting trial for allegedly fleecing an elderly parishioner of nearly her life savings, has been charged with stealing more than $200,000 from a Trumbull man’s estate in an elaborate scheme.
Robert Genevicz, 67, who was fired as the religious leader of the Stratford Baptist Church following his first arrest, was charged Monday with first-degree larceny. He was released after posting $100,000 bond.
Police also arrested Genevicz’s alleged Delilah – a gospel singer who the minister told detectives led him astray, Doraine Reed. Reed, 56, was charged with first-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit first-degree larceny. She is being held in lieu of $100,000 bond.
Police said the couple took out loans from the Trumbull man, 88-year-old Arthur Devack’s estate to buy each other luxury autos, a white Mercedes roadster for him and a black Mercedes sedan for her.
