Sen Ted Cruz: Houston Gay Mayor Has No Power to Silence the Church

Pastors in Houston are fighting back against an attempt by the mayor to silence them from the pulpit.
Some have been told to provide the government with their sermons. Now, they're getting a little help from one of the top conservative voices in the country: Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas.
On Thursday in Houston, Cruz visited his home church to give city officials a lesson on religious liberty.
"The city of Houston has no power, no legal authority to silence the Church," he said.
The controversy began over a city ordinance that not only bans discrimination against LGBT people; it also allows them to choose which bathroom they want to use.

Gay Pastor to lead St. Petersburg Lutheran congregation.

ST. PETERSBURG — The former monk took his place in the procession with a bishop and other clergy into the Gothic revival-style church.
For the Rev. Paul Gibson, his steps toward the candlelit altar and past the illuminated German-made stained glass windows at Trinity Lutheran Church marked the culmination of a circuitous and sometimes painful quest.
On Saturday, Gibson, an opera singer turned monk, turned Evangelical Lutheran Church in America pastor, officially became the spiritual leader of the 113-year-old downtown congregation.
The festive service officiated by Bishop Robert Schaefer of the Florida-Bahamas Synod, headquartered in Tampa, was historic for Trinity. A few years earlier, it would have been virtually unthinkable anywhere in the 4-million member Lutheran denomination.

Members of Chinese ‘Church of Almighty God’ Cult Sentenced to Death Following Murder Conviction

China Christians Persecution
HONG KONG – Two members of a Chinese cult called ‘Church of Almighty God’ have been sentenced to death for allegedly murdering a woman at a fast food restaurant when she refused to participate in their recruitment efforts.
Zhang Fan and her father Zang Lidong learned of their punishment in Yantai Intermediate People’s Court in Shandong on Saturday. Three others also faced sentencing—one receiving life in prison, another ten years behind bars and the third receiving a seven-year prison term.
According to reports, members of the group had been stationed outside of McDonalds in Zhaoyuan last May in an attempt to collect phone numbers from patrons. However, when Wu Shuoyan, 37, who was at the restaurant with her seven-year-old son refused to provide her phone number, Fan became upset and called her an “evil spirit.” She then allegedly hit Shuoyan in the head with a chair, and when she fell to the ground, Fan began stomping on her head.

Who is Nina Pham , the dedicated christian diagnosed with Ebola decease ?

So who is the second U.S. patient to contract the Ebola virus while stateside? Nina Pham is described as a highly motivated and caring person who graduated from Texas Christian University's nursing program in 2010. Her Bible Class teacher pointed out that he thinks she may have gone "beyond what she was supposed to do to help anyone in need".

According to the CDC Director no one is blaming her specifically for contracting the Ebola virus while caring for Tom Duncan, but there was "a breach in protocol". Regardless, she's listed in stable condition, and along with her dog, she is receiving special care to attempt to contain the virus and help her recover. Might want to keep her in your prayers. -Alex K-LOVE Radio NBC News

Dutch Biker Gang stands up against ISIS

The global coalition getting together to stop ISIS is finding allies in unlikely places, but perhaps no place less likely or more profoundly awesome than this.
"No Surrender" is the name of a Dutch motorcycle gang that has decided that only way to dispel outlaw justice is to do it yourself.

Reportedly (and seen in tweets like this) members of No Surrender are biking into Syria and Iraq to give the Kurds fighting for their lives a little backup muscle. No Surrender's chief Klaas Otto confirmed to a Dutch TV station that several members have temporarily set up shop in Iraq.

Francis Frangipane Sermons - Word for Today

Regardless of the battle before us, no matter how dark the spiritual atmosphere becomes, we must fight for the purposes of God in the earth.
We cannot relax our intercession nor surrender our vision. We have not entered the day of irreversible darkness.

From WWI to the Great Depression; from WWII to the Cold War, every generation has had to fight against the evil of its day. The war against Islamic terrorism is our fight.
Some will physically volunteer to fight, but all of us must commit to pray.

Obituary : Gospel singer 'Sista Monica' Parker dies at 58

MODESTO >> Monica Parker, the exuberant longtime Santa Cruz blues/gospel singer known internationally by her stage name "Sista Monica," died Thursday in Modesto. She was 58.
The former U.S. Marine and longtime tech-industry recruiter had been diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer in July. In 2003, she had been diagnosed with a rare form of cancer called synovial sarcoma and was, at that time, told she had three months to live.

At the time of her first diagnosis, Parker was at the height of her career as a performer specializing in Chicago blues and Southern African-American gospel. Her burgeoning popularity in blues festivals up and down the West Coast had led to success across the country and, indeed, into Europe where she had traveled and performed widely. She had, in fact, just returned from a 21-city tour of Europe when she was diagnosed with cancer the first time.

Evangelist Jesse Duplantis : Word for Today

What you feed your mind determines what your body will do on the inside. That's why allowing God's Word to abide in you is so important.

If you constantly think, "I'm so sick and tired," or "I'll never get healed," or "I'll never be off drugs," or "Nothing works for me," or whatever, you're not giving your mind any good direction. It will respond physically to that stuff.

You'll stay sick and tired, addicted and depressed. You're not giving your mind anything to work with! How can you expect to receive anything with that mess confusing your faith?

Gov Huckabeeto Leave GOP Over Same-Sex Marriage

Mike Huckabee, the former Arkansas governor and 2008 Republican presidential candidate, is throwing down the same-sex gauntlet in his party's back yard.

His message to the Republicans: Stand against gay marriage, or I won't stand with you.
Huckabee made his intentions clear during the American Family Association's Tuesday morning broadcast. He's clearly frustrated with the party's response to the Supreme Court's decision not to rule on the same-sex marriage debate.

"If the the Republicans want to lose guys like me and a whole bunch of still God-fearing, Bible-believing people, go ahead and just abdicate on this issue and while you're at it, go ahead and say abortion doesn't matter either," he said. "At that point, you lose me. I'll become an independent. I'll start finding people that have guts to stand."

Europe School bans Yoga Biblical Reasons

A primary school in Austria has dropped yoga classes for children after a mother argued Yoga goes against Christian teachings.

Ingrid Karner taught yoga to students once a month at the school in Dechantskirchen.
But she told the Kleine Zeitung newspaper she was told to stop the classes after a complaint.
"All I heard was that according to the Bible yoga should not be allowed and it would lead the children in the wrong direction," Karner said.

The school principal told a newspaper no parents had complained when the courses started this year.
A school inspector says schools should not offer anything linked to "esoteric" practices.
Yoga began in Hinduism and Buddhism but has been widely accepted in modern society.

Ben Affleck Curses Jesus While Defending Islam

Ben Affleck seems so amiable in his movies. However, on the set of Bill Maher's liberal TV show (I don't even know the name), he was seething. Yes, seething mad that someone might think, just because Muslims are chopping off heads, raping young girls and committing honor killings, there might be a problem within the doctrines of Islam.

Even Bill Maher, an avowed atheist and super liberal, seems to get it right when it comes to Islam. However, Hollywood A-lister Mr. Affleck (who is so famous his name gets spellchecked in Word!) disagrees. He thinks any criticism of Islam is Islamophobic (a word that Word does not recognize). In fact, he thinks, "It's gross. It's racist."

Swingin’ for Jesus? “Christian” Couple swaps partners as “ministry”

The modern church is always looking for new ways to be hip, relevant, and popular to this neon-shiny culture of death.

After all, we can’t save those poor souls if we don’t reach out, right? It seems we’ve discovered the secret to making all the pagans love us: do what they do.

We sin right along with them, to become as reprobate…er, “relatable” as we can.
Dean and Christy Parave are self-labeled Christians in Florida. And they think they’ve found a brilliant way to rescue the lost: getting lost themselves. They’re proud swingers.
As in, a married couple who habitually have sex with other people’s spouses.
They also run a swingers website, to match couples and facilitate the swinging lifestyle. But they say it’s all okay…they’re preaching to their sex partners. Just like God intended.

Austria on Thursday called for standardized German-language translations of the Koran and moved to prohibit foreign funding of Muslim organizations on its soil in a draft law aimed in part at tackling Islamic extremism, Reuters reports.

“The clear message should be that there is no contradiction between being a faithful Muslim and a proud Austrian,” said Foreign Affairs and Integration Minister Sebastian Kurz, a member of the conservative People’s Party, according to Reuters.
