Authorities in Iran has arrested one Pastor Matthias Haghnejad after police raided his house and seize Christian paraphernalia.
The pastor was  arrested for crime against God or “Moharebeh” and faces death penalty in the Islamic State according to Christian Solidarity Worldwide.
“These charges constitute a worrying escalation of Iran’s campaign against Christians, adding a sinister new component to the regime’s appalling litany of religious freedom violations,” Christian Solidarity Worldwide’s Chief Executive Mervyn Thomas said.
The Iran 2013 Islamic Penal Code prohibits the death sentence for crime against God, but eight men have been executed for crime against God this year alone under the administration of President Hassan Rouhani , among those executed includes cultural rights activists Hashem Shaabani and Hadi Rashedi.
