FAQ - Did early Christians meet on Sunday? (Video)

Did early Christians meet on Sunday, or did they continue to keep the seventh-day Sabbath? In this short video, Pastor Jim Staley addresses the two verses in the New Testament that seem to suggest that early Christians met on Sunday. You might be surprised to learn what these verses actually say!

Devotions : Andrew Wommack - More than just words

Matthew 5:33, "But let your communication be, Yea, yea: Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil." MATTHEW 5:33-37 .

A person who has to swear or make a promise to validate his statements is a person whose word is no good. The thrust of Jesus' teaching here is that we should live in such a manner that no one would ever have to have additional proof that we are telling the truth.

Our word should be our bond. We have all heard the story of the young shepherd boy who cried wolf when there was no wolf until finally no one believed him when the wolf really came.

Our lack of integrity in performing our word has the same effect on people today. Very few people conduct business anymore with their word and a handshake.

Even contracts are not sacred if an individual can afford a good enough lawyer. But this is not the way God intended it. God has fulfilled every word He has ever spoken.

We were created in His image and He planned for us to be the same way. Even our physical bodies respond adversely when we lie. That's why lie detectors work.

Today, commit yourself to be a new man or woman of your word. You will not only experience a new respect from others, but you will find the joy of a clear heart and mind.

Charles Capps Death , Tribute by Creflo Dollar

What a blessing Charles Capps was to the Body of Christ—one of God’s world-renowned generals with keen insight and a gift for teaching the Word of faith.
I’ll never forget the time when Charles was in my office at our church. I had a sign on my desk that read, “God Is in Control.” Charles said, “Brother Dollar, that’s not necessarily true. If God is in control, then He’d be in control of all the bad things that happen on earth.
No. God has given you and me dominion on this earth. God gave man a 6,000-year lease to use his authority to bind and loose things on this earth.
Certain things happen because man expects God to do something, when, instead, he should be executing his God-given authority.” I’ll always be eternally grateful to God for allowing this great man of faith to impart his knowledge, wisdom, and insight on the biblical principles of faith into my life.
Charles, you will be missed! I eagerly look forward to the time when I will see you again!

Joseph Prince - Release The Anointing Into Your Situation

‘When anyone offers a grain offering to the Lord, his offering shall be of fine flour. And he shall pour oil on it, and put frankincense on it.
Leviticus 2:1

The grain offering in the Old Testament speaks of Jesus’ sacrifice, and oil in the Bible speaks of the anointing of the Holy Spirit. So the grain offering of fine flour, which had oil poured on it, speaks of Jesus’ humanity being anointed by the Holy Spirit.

Jesus is fully God. But when He came to earth, He literally emptied Himself, taking the form of a servant. (Philippians 2:7) That is why He needed to be anointed of the Holy Spirit before He could begin His ministry. (John 1:33).

Though fully God, He did things by the power of the Holy Spirit. Jesus was anointed to bring the blessings of God into the lives of people. He first spoke of His anointing when He was preaching in His hometown — “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor…” (Luke 4:18).

Today, Jesus’ anointing has come upon you. (1 John 2:20) The Bible says that “the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you”. (1 John 2:27) But how is this anointing in you released?
My friend, it is when you call upon Jesus’ name. In Song of Solomon 1:3, the virgins, representing the church, love His name, which is like ointment poured forth when spoken. When they called upon His Name, His fragrance was released and the anointing was poured forth. So when you call upon the name of Jesus, you are releasing His anointing.

Call upon His name when you are feeling down and His anointing will lift your spirit up. If you are feeling dry and empty, just say, “Jesus, Jesus.” Before you know it, a river of refreshing will gush forth as His anointing flows. Call upon His name when you need a breakthrough and His anointing will release it to you.

Romans 10:13 says that “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved”. So call on Jesus’ name and watch His anointing release your deliverance, healing, protection and prosperity, and make you whole!
Thought For The Day.

The anointing which you have received from Jesus abides in you and is released into your situation when you call upon His name.

Speak the Truth in Love | Marriage Today | Jimmy Evans

For any relationship to grow we have to speak the truth to each other in a loving and gracious manner. Much of the truth that must be spoken isn't absolute, it is what is real to us about how we feel.

FAQ - Does Mark 7 say all animals are ok to eat?

Devotions : Dag Heward Mills - Understanding Timing of your assignment

Unknown to many people, this earthly life is very time-related. Every instruction or opportunity is time-related. Hear this and hear it very well: every instruction that God has given to you has an invisible timer.

A countdown begins the moment God speaks to you. The available time to perform that duty reduces with every passing hour. Many think they are just biding time and will take God seriously later.

Do not be deceived! The expiry date of your grace period is fast approaching. Do you know the time? Do we know the time?

Devotions: Kenneth E. Hagin - Is Your Profit Showing ?

Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all (1 Tim. 4:15).

If your profiting is to appear to all, then it is to show! Why is godliness profitable? Why is living for God, being God's child, walking in fellowship with God, keeping God's commandments, profitable?
It is because God has made some promises to His faithful children. Notice the word ""having promise of the life that now is" (1 Tim. 4:8).

God has made us promises in this life. Our profiting is because of these promises. And when our profiting (which is due to God's promises) appears to all, we are able to show the world there is a God in the Church - just as when Israel was walking with God, she could show the earth "there is a God in Israel" (1 Sam. 17:46).

Confession: I will meditate upon God's promises and give myself wholly to them, that my profiting may appear to all.

Devotions : Paula White - First Fruits: The Difference 1

As we are learning the deeper truths of God’s Word and laying the foundation for the principle of first fruits, I want to share with you an example of first fruits in action. Often the best way to do this is with an illustration right out of Gods Word. Let’s examine the first occurrence of first fruits in the Bible – the history of Cain and Abel.

“And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the LORD. And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the LORD had respect unto Abel and his offering: But unto Cain and his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell.” (Genesis 4:3-5) .

In almost 30 years of studying God’s Word almost daily, I realize I have only scratched the surface to even begin to fathom the richness, depth, and vastness of His wonderful truth. But when something really puzzles me, I find that I just can’t let it go until I dig deeper and get a better understanding of it. That is the “meditation” of His Word! To continue to chew on it until you can digest it and receive its valuable nutrition.

Remember, we said before that the Biblical first fruits principle has to do with being willing to give to God what we love the most, and being surrendered and yielded to Him.
The difference between Cain’s offering and Abel’s offering had been such a mystery to me for a long time. When I initially studied the Word of God, I could not figure out what it was about Cain’s offering that was unacceptable to the Lord.

As I began to gain more insight into the deeper truths and specifically the principle of first fruits, it all started making more sense and had more clarity.

To be continued. ..

Devotions : Joyce Meyer - Tests and Trials

For no temptation (no trial regarded as enticing to sin), [no matter how it comes or where it leads] . . . [has come to you that is beyond human resistance and that is not adjusted and adapted and belonging to human experience, and such as man can bear]. But God is faithful [to His Word and to His compassionate nature], and He [can be trusted] not to let you be tempted and tried and assayed beyond your ability and strength of resistance and power to endure, but with the temptation He will [always] also provide the way out (the means of escape to a landing place), that you may be capable and strong and powerful to bear up under it patiently. —1 Corinthians 10:13

Hard times can bring the temptation to give up and become negative, depressed, and angry with God. Life can be difficult, but God will always intervene and His help will always arrive on time.

Tonight, purpose in your heart to keep pressing on and rest in His presence. God has promised to deliver you before it is too late!

Arizona Governor Jan Brewer Vetoes Anti-Gay Bill

Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer has vetoed a hot-button measure that would have permitted businesses in the state to deny service to gays and lesbians for religious beliefs.

At a news conference at the State Capitol Wednesday evening, Brewer said the bill "could result in unintended and negative consequences."

"I sincerely believe that Senate Bill 1062 has the potential to create more problems than it purports to solve," Brewer said.

Devotions : Pastor E.A Adeboye -Standing alone

And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. John 14:3.

Can you dare to stand alone? Can you dare to stand on the side of God while the government is against you?
The midwives of Exodus 1 fell out of favour with the government of the day but they did not care. As a result of their sacrificial obedience of God, they entered into favour with God and began to receive special divine care according to Exodus 1:20. infact, verse 21 says, “And it came to pass, because the midwives feared God, that he made them houses.”
This could mean those who were single and searching found their right spouses and got married.
It could also mean that those who were married had peace and multiplication in their homes.
Also, this could mean that the tenants among them became landladies by divine favour and speed.

Beloved, are people laughing at you while you are obeying the King of kings? Are they calling you a fool because you refuse to compromise like others are doing to succeed?

Are people saying you do not know the shortcut to prosperity?
Never mind. Stay focused on your God-given assignment! God did not forget the midwives; He will also not forget you. God gave them households. God will not forgot you or your labour in souls winning!

In John 14:1-3, the Lord assures us that He is building mansions for us. Many years ago, the Lord took me in a vision to a place in a city beyond compare in beauty. I saw a house under construction which was massive and had many rooms.
The laborers were busy working at it. When I asked the Lord who owns the house, He said, ‘Son, this is your house’, expecting that since there is no night in Heaven, when my children come to pay me visits, they will have rooms to stay. He said the building is still going on as long as I am winning souls.

Beloved, whether people believe it or not, I know what I saw. I saw mansions in Heaven. I have seen my own building. The Lord is equally building yours.

Are you committed to winning souls? Soul winners are so dear to God’s heart that He makes them relevant both in time and in eternity. How much have you worked for your heavenly reward?

Prayer Point

Father, help me to serve you acceptably so that I do not lose my earthly and external rewards.

But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you (Romans 8:11).
Our opening verse is such a powerful revelation from the Word of God. However, many have only related to it as though it’s a mere promise; but it isn’t a promise. The question to ask is, “Does the Spirit live in you?” Yes, if you have received Him into your life. That means the second part has also been fulfilled in you, since the vitalizing of your mortal body is preconditioned on the Spirit dwelling in you. The day He took up His abode in you was when He quickened—gave life—to your mortal body. You don’t have a mortal body anymore!
The Bible says He brought life and immortality to light through the Gospel (2 Timothy 1:10). Halleluiah. Not knowing how to rightly apply the Word has made some not to see the reality of God’s Word, and as a result, live in the realm of promises. It’s the reason some are still subject to the elements of this world, battling with headaches, colds and fevers, instead of living the life of dominion through the Spirit.
In response to the scripture: Romans 8:11, “...if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in me, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken my mortal body,” declare “the same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead has taken up His abode in me, and has vitalized my mortal body; He has made my body come alive with the life of God! Now I have the life and nature of God in me.”
This is a present-hour reality. This was what the Apostle Paul knew, that he didn’t panic when a venomous viper fastened itself around his arm. He merely shook the beast into the fire and continued what he was doing. Being born again and filled with the Holy Spirit, you no longer live by blood but by the power of the Spirit.
The same Spiritt hat raised Jesus from the dead has given life to your physical body, making you indestructible!
The same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead, lives in me. He’s made my body come alive with the life of God. Now, I declare that I walk in divine health and victory; sickness and disease can’t dwell in this body because it’s the temple of the Holy Spirit, Halleluiah!

Setting the Record Straight on David Yonggi Cho

By Bob Rodgers.
David Yonggi Cho, pastor of Yoido Full Gospel Church in Seoul, South Korea, has been a personal friend of our family for more than 40 years. He has stayed in our home, and my father and I have served on his church growth board for a combined 38 years.

Presently, I serve as president of Church Growth International of the Americas. Because of the slant of some of the media reports, it is important certain details of the situation be made known. Not only was I present in Seoul during much of the trial, but there was also information disclosed during closed-door meetings which has not yet been made public. I want to share some of this as follows.

First, the Seoul Central District Court sentenced Cho, 78, to a three-year prison term suspended for five years. He had been indicted for allegedly causing financial losses worth more than $12 million. He was also fined $5 million. He will not have to serve prison time, but he is on probation.

Second, Cho’s son, Cho Hee-Jun, 49, was indicted for the same charges. Because he was considered a flight risk, he was immediately taken into custody following a court order after being sentenced to three years in prison.

Cho has three sons. The second and third sons are very productive and work in church-related ministries. His eldest son has been the prodigal. He has been married four times and has been involved in sexual scandals with national personalities. In addition, he has served prison time for investment scams and embezzlement.

His scandalized life has been an embarrassment to his family and the church. advertisement Twelve years ago, this son purposely defrauded the church in excess of $12 million in a stock-related scheme.

Cho testified that he trusted his elders and son and didn’t check and read the thousands of pages of paperwork, which was prepared for him to sign. Because Cho relied upon the direction of his choice elders and son, he signed the papers. He never received any monies from the transaction.

Third, the presiding judge said, “The court considered that even though Pastor Cho had the final say in the church, he never took the lead in any of the crimes, including tax evasion, committed on the suggestion of the accounting firm.”

The court also considered Cho’s life journey as a religious leader and his long-term contribution to social welfare as mitigating circumstances on his behalf.
The court ruled that his son, Cho Hee-Jun, was the instigator of the crime related to the purchase of the shares of 1-Service stock.

Even though Cho established the world’s largest church, with more than 1 million members, he lives a simple life in a 1,000-square-foot church apartment. Neither does he own a car. Cho has raised and given personally to the church more than $170 million.

Dr. Bob Rodgers Sr. is pastor of Evangel World Prayer Center in Louisville, Ky.

Joseph Prince - Jesus’ Priesthood Never Curses

And having been perfected, He became the author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him, called by God as High Priest “according to the order of Melchizedek,” Hebrews 5:9–10

When Jesus died and rose again, He became our High Priest. But notice that Jesus’ priesthood is “according to the order of Melchizedek”.

Why the Melchizedek priesthood? The Melchizedek priesthood gives to man (whereas the Aaronic priesthood takes from man). We see this when Melchizedek gave bread and wine to refresh a tired Abraham after his battle with the enemy kings. (Genesis 14:14–20) So if Jesus’ priesthood is according to the Melchizedek order, then it is one in which we can come boldly into His presence to receive from Him! (Hebrews 4:16).

Moreover, the first word from Melchizedek’s mouth was “Blessed” — “Blessed be Abram…” (Genesis 14:19) The Melchizedek order is just that — blessings. In other words, Jesus’ priesthood is one which blesses and never curses us!

So are we conscious of Jesus our High Priest giving to us every day? Are we alert to all His blessings coming from heaven toward us on earth?

Now, it is easy for us to believe God for His blessings in creation.
For example, we have no difficulty believing that the sun will rise every morning. But while we have no problems believing the work of creation, we have problems believing the work of redemption. We sometimes find it hard to believe God for healing, prosperity, favor, protection or restoration — blessings that Jesus died to give us.

We don’t really believe that every day, the Lord will take care of us, keep our bodies healthy and provide for all our needs. Yet, creation is fallen. It can be a blessing as well as a curse. Sometimes, a storm arises, and powerful winds and rains destroy thousands of homes and lives.

Sometimes, dark clouds hide the sun and make the whole day gloomy. My friend, we can’t put our trust in creation, but we can certainly put our trust in redemption. And unlike creation, the blessings of redemption are all good!

The work of Jesus is not subject to the weather or anything else. The work of redemption is as sure as Jesus Himself. He died and rose again to be our High Priest who daily showers us with blessings!

Thought For The Day
Jesus’ priesthood, which is according to the order of Melchizedek, is one which blesses and never curses us!

David Yonggi Cho founder of the world’s largest Pentecostal church, Sentenced to 3 Years for Embezzling $12 Million

David Yonggi Cho
David Yonggi Cho, founder of world's largest Pentecostal congregation, was found guilty by South Korean court for committing breach of trust and corruption of 13 billion won (US $12 million), according to Yonhap News Agency.

Yoido Full Gospel Church senior pastor received a suspended sentence of three-year prison term with a five year probation and ordered to pay a penalty of 5 billion won (US $4.7 million) by Seoul Central Distrcit Court on Feb. 20, 2014.
The court also sentenced Cho's elder son Hee-jun, secretary general of Yeongsan Christian Cultural Center and former chairman of Next Media, to a three-year prison term without suspension. He was formally arrested before the court ruling, the Yonhap News reported.

In 2002, while serving as chairman of a church-affiliated newspaper Kookmin Ilbo, Hee-jun sold the church 250,000 shares of stock in I-Service at 86,984 won (US$80.06) per share, which was much more expensive than the market price of 24,032 (US$22.12) per share, the hankyoreh reported.
Prosecutors identified David Cho as an accomplice to the crime of breach of trust, claiming that Cho used the money to help his son recover losses made in stock investements.

According to hankyoreh, Cho had directed the transaction, which the church has "absolutely no need for" and resulted in a loss, to be dealt with as quietly as possible despite his full knowledge of the potential "uproar" from the elders and congregation if they find out.

The church's loss of 131 billion won resulted in 29 church elder's filing the lawsuit in 2011, accusing him of embezzling US $20 million. In addition, prosecutors acquired evidence of tax evasion during the investigation, where Cho was suspected of evading 3.5 billion won (US $3.2 million).  While Cho has denied the allegation, he has also been criticized for privatizing church assets.  Although the judge believes that Cho should be severely punished for committing breach of trust, especially for a person of his status in society, he gave a light sentence on Cho's tax evasion in consideration of Cho's long-term contributions to the society, the Yonghap News reported.

The court sentenced Hee-jun to three years in prison for being the main culprit, who tried to evade responsibility - placing his personal financial loss on the church and the blame on others.  Cho, 78, founded Yoido Full Gospel Church in 1958 and it now claims more than 450,000 followers. His proteges have built their own "disciple churches" across the country, creating a congregation of around 800,000, with Cho as the leader.

Devotions : Reinhard Bonnke - The impact of the Holy Spirit

The church wants no dead limbs, no feet going to sleep, but everyone alive with the life of the Spirit. It is the Holy Spirit that makes the body, bringing together its living elements; what is needed is for the whole body to work together and move together in the same direction.

The church is God’s dynamic force on earth. We are told about “the unity of the Spirit.”
We are responsible for preserving the unity but the Holy Spirit is the unifying element. He holds us together – if we want to be together. God bless you.

Greatness is Taking Responsibility | Marriage Today | Jimmy Evans

Everyone makes mistakes, but only great men and women take responsibility for their failures. Anyone can be sorry, but the sign of true repentance is taking responsibility and changing your behavior.

The "I Am David" series order page:

Billy Graham - Wisdom for Today

If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God . . . and it shall be given him. —James 1:5

Peace with God and the peace of God in a man’s heart and the joy of fellowship with Christ have in themselves a beneficial effect upon the body and mind, and will lead to the development and preservation of physical and mental power.
Thus, Christ promotes the best interest of the body and mind as well as of the spirit–in addition to inward peace, the development of spiritual life, the joy and fellowship with Christ, and the new strength that come with being born again.

There are certain special privileges that only the true Christian can enjoy. There is, for example, the privilege of having divine wisdom and guidance continually.

Prayer for the day

Let me live so close to You, almighty God, that Your wisdom will invade my mind continually.

Devotions : Kenneth E. Hagin - Love Characteristics

"Love does not rejoice at injustice and unrighteousness, but rejoices when right and truth prevail. Love bears up under anything and everything that comes, is ever ready to believe the best of every person" (1 Cor. 13:6-7).

"Love bears up under anything and everything that comes. "If you have the God-kind of love within - and if you walk in the God-kind of love - you will make it every time!"

"Love is ever ready to believe the best of every person." Natural human love is ever ready to believe the worst about every person! I've traveled across this country for many years in the ministry, and it's amazing what you hear about this preacher and that preacher, this person and that person, this singer and that singer. I don't pay the least bit of attention to any of those stories.

I don't believe a word of them. I believe the best of everyone. Children ought to have the right to be brought up in this love atmosphere in the home. Then they'll go out in life's fight and win. But when you always see the worst in the children and always tell them, "You'll never amount to anything," they'll live up to what you say.

But when you see the best in them and love them, it will bring out the best in them. They will grow up to amount to something.

Confession: I am a love person. I do not rejoice at injustice and unrighteousness. I rejoice when right and truth prevail. I bear up under anything and everything that comes. I am ever ready to believe the best of every person.

Devotions : Brother John O : Exposing Exceeding Grace lies Part 1

Should we continue in sin that grace may abound ?, Romans 6:1 , that means grace only works for the righteous ( one thirsty and hungry after righteousness) not a sinner who want grace to cover his sin.

This is the love of God that we keep his commandment 1 John 5:3 , so to love God simply means to obey his commandment.  But if you can't keep the commandments  which is simply to do those things that pleases God and to abstain from all form of sin then Grace can not help you (1 Corinthians 13:1-8).

Have you tried to keep his commandments of love and failed ?, if your answer is yes its simply because we as humans does not have natural capacity to please God, just as there is the spirit of faith there Is also the Spirit of love and you can get it by meditating in the word day and night Psalm 119:9-11, addiction to the Word also increase the grace of God on your live life 2 Peter 1:2.

Finally living a sanctified life gives you access to the gifts of the spirit which is pivotal if you must ride as a Kingdom Star ( 1 Corinthians 2:14).

Things that are seen don’t last forever, but things that are not seen are eternal. That’s why we keep our minds on things that are not seen. (2nd Corinthians 4:8 cev).

As Christians we achieve our success, victory, prosperity and progress in life by activating certain spiritual principles that we find in God’s word. One of such principles is seeing the unseen. This means seeing with your faith eye, seeing your miracle first from inside you- your heart. Before the physical manifestation of the glory and supernatural power of God in your life, you must see it first within you.

Once you can see it inside your spirit- with the eyes of faith- then that thing is already yours. You can never have it on the outside if you don’t have it first within. That’s where some have missed it. They want to see first with their physical eyes before calling real that which God has promised. That’s not faith. Faith is calling real that which the physical senses can’t perceive.

For instance, it’d be wrong for anyone to say of a pregnant woman; “I can’t see her baby so there is nothing in her womb” the fact is the baby is there even though no one is seeing it. Even before her belly got big the baby was there already. The belly only got big because the baby inside grew bigger. At the end of the gestation period, the baby will be born. In the same way, that miracle you are pregnant with- that blessing you’ve already seen and take possession of in the spirit-will manifest if you refuse to vacillate or waver in your faith.

With your eyes of faith, see the new job you desire; see your prosperity, health, grace, peace progress, success, deliverance and the salvation of your family and friends. Begin to proclaim with your mouth that which you have already seen within you, not so they will come to pass, but because you know that in the faith realm, they already exist.

I thank you father for helping me see my success, wisdom, health, wealth, progress, promotion and every good thing I require to live the good, glorious and victorious life you’ve called me into.
Hebrews 11:1AMP, John 20:29

Devotions : Pastor W.F Kumuyi - Thy Kingdom Come

“Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in Heaven”. Matt 6:10.

It is NOT enough to confess that GOD’S WILL be done on Earth; we need to MAKE UP OUR MIND “as the servants of Christ, doing (TO DO and KEEP DOING) the WILL OF GOD FROM THE HEART” (Eph 6:6).

THIS is the time to enter into a NEW REALM in your Christian life and Walk with God, when EVERY STEP you take is THE WILL OF GOD. CLOSE YOUR EYES AND MIND to any other will. DO NOT attempt to hinder the WILL OF GOD in your own life or in another person's life.

I pray for you today as you read this, that EVERY CONTRARY WILL in your life will be CANCELLED; EVERY THING that the enemy has put in your life to frustrate GOD’S WILL, will be DESTROYED; you will be RELEASED by God’s Power to BEGIN TO DO and CONTINUE to do HIS WILL and God will CONFIRM HIS WILL in your life IN JESUS’ NAME, AMEN!

University Hotel Bans Bibles in Bedside Tables After Atheists Deem Them ‘Unwelcome Religious Propaganda’

Guests staying at the Iowa State University’s Hotel Memorial Union will soon notice something missing from their hotel rooms. Starting March 1, the Bibles that have traditionally been placed in nightstands will be permanently pulled from every room.

The decision to remove the Bibles comes after a guest reportedly complained to the Freedom From Religion Foundation, a church-state separatist group, decrying the Bibles as “unwelcome religious propaganda in the bedside table.”

The atheist activist group argued that the hotel, which is part of Iowa’s public university system, was unconstitutionally endorsing Christianity by placing Bibles and not other religious texts in each of its 52 rooms, WHO-TV reported.

Hotel Memorial Union will now make the books available in its downstairs library and reading room. In a letter sent late last month from Freedom From Religion Foundation staff attorney Patrick Elliot to Richard S. Reynolds, director of the Memorial Union, the atheist group asked that the Bibles be banned. “It is a fundamental principle of Establishment Clause jurisprudence that a government entity cannot in any way promote, advance, or otherwise endorse religion,” Elliot wrote.

“If a state-run university has a policy of providing a Christian religious text to guests, that policy facilitates illegal endorsement of Christianity over other religions and over nonreligion.” Reynolds complied and the organization has since praised the decision.
“We’re delighted to see reason and the Constitution prevailing,” said Annie Laurie Gaylor, co-president of the Freedom From Religion Foundation.
“We can all sleep easier knowing secularism is being honored at our public universities.”

Last month, The University of Wisconsin-Extension, the outreach arm of the state’s public university system, also complied with the Freedom From Religion Foundation’s demands to end the tradition of placing Bibles in guest rooms at a campus conference center. (H/T: WHO-TV)

Devotions : Andrew Wommack - Demons in Church

Mark 1:23, "And there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit; and he cried out;...."
MK. 1:21-28; LK. 4:33-37

Many people don't associate demon possessed people with places of worship. Yet most of the demons that Jesus cast out were encountered in the church.

Why would demon possessed people be in church? In some cases, the people were there because they were seeking help. The church, like a hospital, offers people the cure and therefore, attracts those who are sick. In other cases, the devil sows these types of people in the church to spread spiritual disease.

A church that is teaching the true Word of God should either try to evangelize these individuals or make them so convicted that they move on. Sad to say, demon possessed people can thrive in most religious settings today.

We always need to show love for the sinner as Jesus did, but we should cut the devil no slack. If a person wants to keep an evil spirit on the inside of them, they should not feel at home in church.

Let the Spirit of God live through you as He did through Jesus and you will either make people mad or glad, but there will not be indifference.

Snake Pastor Dies After His Snake Bit Him In Church (pics + video)

A Pentecostal reverend, Pastor Jamie Coots of ' Full Gospel Tabernacle in Jesus Name' , known for preaching with snakes coiled around him has lost his life after one of the creatures suddenly bit him.

Pastor Coots, before his death, starred in National Geographic's reality show about snake-handling in church and said he believed Christians were instructed by Jesus Christ in Mark 16:15-18, to pick up serpents, and they will never be hurt, as long as they are anointed by God.
The specific verses read: "And these signs shall accompany them that believe: in my name shall they cast out demons; they shall speak with new tongues; they shall take up serpents, and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall in no wise hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover." So, by relying on the "anointing," or empowering of the Holy Spirit, Pastor Coots preached that believers will be supernaturally protected from harm when handling snakes.

Unfortunately, Pastor Jamie Coots suffered the fatal attack while preaching to his Kentucky congregation last Saturday. Immediately, emergency units raced to his church to give him treatment but the pastor and reality show star had already gone home.

EMTs went to Pastor Coots' home but he sent them away, refusing medical care, because of his belief. An hour later, he was dead. May his soul rest in perfect peace!.

Outside the Camp - Poem by Reinhard Bonnke

Outside the Camp Poem by Reinhard Bonnke

1. Night fell at noon at the Cross; “Day and night I cried”, the prophet said. Those watching Jesus dying at Calvary could no longer see, feeling eerie. The dead stirred in their tomb, coming out of their graves and gloom.
People in the temple witnessed an amazing thing, a very strange happening. An unseen mighty hand tore the thick veil like a sheet of paper.
The Lord from the Holiest of Holy was gone and could not be traced like a vapor. But then He was found, nailed to the Cross, by order of Israel’s High Priest boss.
Our blessed Lord Jesus Christ, fulfilling Scriptures for us.

2. God put His Son in the hands of rogues, who gave Him nails, stripes and robes. As Lamb He was slain, but triumphed as LORD when He rose again. Bury a lie and it will decay, but bury the truth and it will rise, disproving all lies.
With Jesus being The Way, The Truth and The Life, the grave could not connive. Needle wielding priests repaired the curtain in the temple well, But that did not bring God’s glory back or His presence in it to dwell.
God was missing, His House now being an empty shell. He was out and about, that is maybe in the Upper Room, when the Holy Spirit fell.

3. One needs to be "outside the camp" to see the Redeemer’s glow, The Lord is no more behind the veil; His works of compassion everywhere show.
His glory is expressed in His giving: Christ gave all He had for all of us. And when His hands were empty He emptied them again – of His blood. The joy in heaven included also pain.
Jesus bore man’s unbearable shame. And the Father? "God was in Christ”, we read, fully involved with Christ’s deed. What God was on the Cross, He was on the Throne, absorbed with man to atone But now “It is finished”, our Redemption complete, Jesus guarantees, it needs no repeat.

Jesse Duplantis - Word for Today

There is an answer! If everything in your life seems to be falling apart, you can do something today that will begin to turn it around.

Whether it's sickness, fear, persecution or any distressing situation that comes against you or your loved ones, you don't have to put up with it any longer.

What is it that can turn a seemingly hopeless situation into a victory celebration? Cheer! (John16:33)

Devotions : Joseph Prince - From ‘Deliverance’ To ‘No Evil Shall Touch You’

He shall deliver you in six troubles, yes, in seven no evil shall touch you. Job 5:19 .

God will deliver you from all your troubles. (Psalm 34:19, 2 Timothy 4:18) But deliverance is actually not the best that God has for you because it implies that you are in trouble. God’s best for you is the place where no trouble or evil can touch you. And with His help, you will come to that place because the Bible says, “He shall deliver you in six troubles, yes, in seven no evil shall touch you.”

This does not mean that God will only deliver you six times. It just means that as you keep believing God’s promises of protection, after some time, you will come to a place where no evil will touch you! So when trouble comes, God does not want you to be discouraged. He wants you to know that it is only the devil trying to steal His Word from your heart.

The devil is afraid of leaving God’s Word in your heart for even one second because he knows that it will lead you to a place where no evil will touch you. That is why he comes immediately to steal God’s Word from your heart. He will do so by telling you, “Look, your child is sick. Where is God now?” You must not respond by saying, “Well, I guess it does not work. Maybe God’s promises of deliverance are not for my family.” No, you must continue to stand on God’s promises. Say, “The previous flu my child had did not stay. God promises me deliverance and He did deliver my child then. So I will live life believing His promises of deliverance because His Word is true. And I will come to a place where no evil can touch me and my family!”

Beloved, even if in the next moment you happen to stub your toe against something hard, don’t be discouraged and wonder why God did not protect your toe. The devil had meant to cause greater harm to you, but thank God that he could not because God is watching over you.

And keep standing on His promises until you come to the place where no evil will touch you!

Thought For The Day
Keep believing God’s promises of protection and come to a place where no evil will touch you!

Miracle: Refugee's Family 'Raised from Dead' (video)

How large was Noah's ark?

We know the Ark must have been at least 450 feet long, 75 feet wide, and 45 feet high.

Using a longer cubit, it would have been over 500 feet in length. In the Western world, wooden sailing ships never got much longer than about 330 feet, yet much earlier the ancient Greeks were building vessels at least this size.

China built huge wooden ships in the 1400s that may have been as large as the Ark. The biblical Ark is one of the largest wooden ships of all time, a mid-sized cargo ship even by today’s standards.

The Ark had three decks (see Gen. 6:16), so this gives you an idea of its overall size. With a capacity of 1.5 million cubic feet, it would have had sufficient room for all the people, animals (kinds), and supplies.

If you have more information about Noah ark leave a comment.

John 4:50, "Jesus saith unto him, Go thy way; thy son liveth. And the man believed the word that Jesus had spoken unto him, and he went his way." JOHN 4:46-54

Jesus didn't have to touch the child. He didn't have to send anything home with the father to affect the cure. All He did was speak and the son was instantly healed (v. 53).

This man had traveled over fifteen miles from Capernaum to Cana to find Jesus. Therefore, the son was not within 'earshot" so that Jesus' words sparked some cord of hope in his heart, thereby releasing God's power. No, Jesus' spoken word had so much power that no barriers (such as time or space) had any affect on it whatsoever.

This is hard for us to comprehend. We spend an entire lifetime learning physical limitations and adapting to them. But there are no limits to the power of God's word. Jesus created everything in this physical universe by His words, and that creation will respond to anything He says.

The Lord gave His Word to the Jews but they didn't believe it.
Hebrews 4:2 says, "...the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard [it]."
We have been given God's words too, in the Bible. If we will speak God's Word in faith, we will get the same results that Jesus did here.

Federal Court: North Carolina ‘Choose Life’ License Plate Unconstitutional

RICHMOND, Va. – North Carolina’s ’Choose Life’ license plate is unconstitutional because the state doesn’t provide the same forum for motorists on the other side of the contentious issue, a federal appeals court ruled Tuesday.

A three-judge panel of the Richmond-based 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals unanimously upheld a federal judge’s ruling that the “Choose Life” license plate is unconstitutional.

Lawmakers approved the anti-abortion plates in 2011 and rejected proposals to offer plates with messages “Trust Women” and “Respect Choice.” That constitutes “blatant viewpoint discrimination squarely at odds with the First Amendment,” wrote appeals court Judge James A. Wynn, who is from North Carolina.

Study : Churchgoers Less Likely to Commit Crime

A new study suggests that attending church cuts down on crime. Researchers at Manchester University discovered that people who attend church on a regular basis are less likely to commit crimes.

The study found different degrees of correlation between increased church visits and decreased crime rates. The most significant were seen in relation to shoplifting, the use of illegal drugs, and music piracy.

Researchers believe that besides teaching about moral norms, being involved in church also leads to spending time with like-minded people and decreases the chances of getting mixed up with the "wrong crowd."

"This research implies that the act of visiting a place of worship may trigger a significant reduction in the likelihood of involvement in certain types of criminal and delinquent behavior," Mark Littler, university project lead, said. according to the Daily Mail.

Over and over God is showing that believers are moving into an incredible and powerful time of outpouring. People are hungry and open to the Gospel. There is so much uncertainty. People from all walks of life are faced with challenges and are searching for answers to the most troubling questions.

On this telecast from San Antonio conference, God gave a very special word to help equip each person who attended for spiritual warfare and anointed ministry.

Today, you will go into the midst of that conference for the continuation of teaching on spiritual authority and impartation, especially in how to pray for the sick!

News : Boys Make 'Deal with Devil' in Girl's Killing

From The CBN News.

Prosecutors say two teenage boys were making a deal with the devil when they sexually assaulted and then killed a 15-year-old girl from Houston. Corriann Cervantes' body was found Feb. 8 in an empty apartment.

Harris County prosecutor John Jordan said signs of the occult were found in the apartment and an upside down crucifix was carved into the girl's stomach.

Jose E. Reyes, 17, was reportedly instructing an unnamed 16-year-old boy on how to sell his soul to the devil. Reyes said he had already done so. "They discussed the fact that Mr. Reyes had sold his soul to the devil, and if they ended up killing this teenager, this would allow the 16-year-old to also sell his soul to the devil," Assistant Harris County Attorney John Jordan said.

The younger teen knew the girl through school. Both teenagers are charged with capital murder.

Devotions : Anne Graham Lotz - Let Him Take Charge

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made." John 1:1-3

It can be mind boggling to contemplate the vastness of the universe, from the greatest star to the smallest particle. It is so vast that astronomers are now saying that it stretches beyond what we are capable of penetrating, even with sophisticated telescopes like the Hubble.

And every bit of it was created by the Living Word of God, Who, even as He hung the stars in space, counted them and called them each by name!

And Who keeps all this in perfect order? Who keeps Earth from getting sucked into some gigantic black hole, or planets from spinning out of control, or stars from falling from the sky?

Who keeps people upright on earth while it turns on its axis? Who established the laws of nature? Who gives people the very breath they breathe?

The answer is none other than the Living Logos of Almighty God Who was in the beginning with God, and Who was God, and Who is the same today.

He is bigger than we think and greater than we think. Nothing is beyond His ability. If He can keep the universe in order, He can keep your life and mine in order, too. He knows what's wrong in your life and how to fix it.
Give Him the authority to put it right. Let Him take charge.

US Church Where People Worship Unclad (video +pics)

A church in the US state of Virginia has taken the bizarre decision to allow its congregation to attend services in the Unclad.
Pastor Allen Parker, the leader of White Tail Chapel in the town of Southampton, said he came to the decision to allow Unclad worship after concluding the clothing requirements of other churches were overly 'pretentious', and decided his own flock should be free to forgo such materialism if they desire.

He believes he is in good company too, claiming many of the most important moments in the Bible happened while the protagonists were Unclad, including Jesus' crucifixion and resurrection.

Is cremation consistent with the Christian worldview?

Cremation has become an increasingly popular means for disposing of the dead. In fact, by the year 2010, it is estimated that one-third of all Americans will cremate their loved ones. While those who opt for cremation often do so on the basis of emotional, economical, or ecological considerations, there are compelling reasons for Christians to choose burial.

First, Scripture clearly favours burial over cremation. The Old Testament pattern was always burial except in highly unusual circumstances. Likewise, in the New Testament Paul equates baptism with both burial and resurrection (Romans 6:4).

Furthermore, burial symbolizes the promise of resurrection by anticipating the preservation of the body. Cremation, however, better symbolizes the pagan worldview of reincarnation. While resurrectionists look forward to the restoration of the body, reincarnationists look forward to being relieved from their bodies.

Finally, burial highlights the sanctity of the body. In the Christian worldview, the body is significant in that it has numerical identity to the resurrected body. Thus, while God has no problem resurrecting the cremated, cremation does not point to the resurrection of God.

Devotions : Billy Graham - Wisdom for Today

Video Worship Today : "Give Me Faith" - ELEVATION WORSHIP

Devotions : Kenneth E Hagin - According to Your Faith

For let not that man [the man who wavers] think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. (James 1:7)

In Matthew chapter 9, two blind men were following Jesus as he left Jairus' house. They were crying and saying, "Thou son of David, have mercy on us!" Then Jesus asked the blind men a question.

He said, "Do you believe that I am able to do this?"

They said, "Yes, Lord." Did Jesus touch their eyes and say, "According to the faith of your church, so be it done unto you"? No, He didn't say that! Did He say, "According to My faith, the faith of the Son of God, so be it, because I sort of took a liking to you two blind fellows"? No!

Did He say, "According to the faith of Kenneth Hagin, so be it done unto you"? No, of course He didn't. Jesus said, "According to your faith, so be it done unto you" (Matt. 9:29).

You see, Jesus asked them a question: "Do you believe that I am able to do this?" Then Jesus uttered the great law of faith that determines in every one of our lives the extent and measure of our blessing: "According to your faith, so be it done unto you."

And the Bible says that the two blind men's eyes were opened (Matt. 9:30).

What opened their eyes? Their faith. And you can have faith just like the two blind men. Romans 10:17 says, "So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God."

Faith is coming into my heart, into my spirit, into my inner man. Faith is coming because I'm hearing the Word of God.

Devotions : Joyce Meyer - Let Go and Let God Work

We are assured and know that [God being a partner in their labor] all things work together and are [fitting into a plan] for good to and for those who love God and are called according to [His] design and purpose. —Romans 8:28.

My husband is a very happy man; he is consistently joyful and peaceful. Over the years we have been married, he has enjoyed his life much more than I have enjoyed mine, and he has not spent (wasted) nearly as much time as I have being angry, upset, and frustrated.

When certain problems arise, Dave says, “If you can do something about this, do it. If you can’t, go on about your business, trust God, and let Him take care of it.”

That always sounded good to me, but it used to take me longer to “let go and let God work” than it did him, but now I am catching up. Recently, we were riding in the car together and Dave received a phone call about a change in one of our television air times.

This happened to be on one of our best stations, and he did not like the change. He started getting upset, and I heard myself say, “Don’t let it bug you. God will make it work out for the best if we pray.” I didn’t even have to try to be positive; it was my first response.

I am continually amazed at how much God can change us if we continue praying and letting Him work in our lives. Here I was actually encouraging Mr. Positive, when most of my life it had been the other way around. That felt good! If we really love God and want to do His will, then we must believe—no matter what happens in our lives—that God is in control and He will take everything that happens and make it work out for our good.

Certain circumstances may not always feel good or appear to be good, but God will cause them to work together with other things in your life to bring about good. God is a good God, and He can take even the worst situations and bring something positive out of them. Trust in Him:

Think about a situation in your life you can’t do anything about. Say from your heart, “I trust God and believe this will work out for my good.” Now let it go and let God work.

2014 Visionary Leadership Conference by Jesse Duplantis

News: EU calls on Saudi Arabia to allow public worship for all faiths

From : Christianity Today News.

The European Union has today called for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to respect the public worship of all faiths. In a motion drafted by Portuguese MEP Ana Maria Gomes, the European Parliament said that while Saudi Arabia was an important strategic partner, Saudi authorities should accept that it is a human right for individuals to worship any religion in public.

Issues like terrorism, Israeli-Palestinian peace, the Syrian conflict, post-Arab-Spring transition, and better relations with Iran, were all key areas in which the EU said Saudi co-operation was needed. However, it made clear that if this partnership "is to be effective, [Saudi Arabia] must respect basic human rights and civil liberties".

MEPs demanded that the Saudi state show "respect the public worship of any faith and to foster moderation and tolerance of religious diversity".

Saudi Arabia has a poor track record on religious freedom.  In February 2013, the Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia, Abdulaziz ibn Abdullah Al al-Sheikh said it is "necessary to destroy all the churches in the Arabian Peninsula".

Article 23 of Saudi Arabia's constitution says: "The state protects Islam; it implements its Sharia; it orders people to do right and shun evil; it fulfils the duty regarding God's call." While private practice of non-Islamic beliefs is protected by law, public practice is prohibited and this prohibition is enforced by the Committee for the Propagation of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice, otherwise known as 'mutawa' or religious police. However, the line between public and private worship is unclear.

In December 2011 a group of Ethiopian Christians were arrested for "illicit mingling" when they met together to pray during Advent. Mutawa officers patrol the streets enforcing laws such as the strict prohibition of Bibles brought to convert locals, or any form of public worship of a religion other than Islam.

Upcoming Events - 2014 Tulsa National Prayer Summit

2014 National Prayer Summit Join Bishop Tudor Bismark and Pastor ChiChi Bismark for the 2014 National Prayer Summit. This year, we will be convening in Tulsa, OK, a location of significant spiritual importance.

We believe that we will experience a manifestation of God's power and grace that is unprecedented. This is a strategic time in the Kingdom. Don't miss this very special opportunity!

Devotions : Kenneth Copeland - Expect the Glory

It’s exciting to have your needs met by faith in the Word of God! It’s great to receive healing when you’re sick. It’s marvelous when God lifts you out of financial difficulties and supplies your needs supernaturally. It is a thrilling experience when, by standing in faith on God’s promises, you step out of trouble and into victory. If you know what that’s like, you’re probably saying, “Oh, yes! Amen, Brother Copeland. That’s the greatest way to live!”

There was a time when I would have agreed. But fasten your seat belt, my friend. God has shown me in His Word that He has something even better for us. It’s a life so powerful, it exceeds anything we could ever ask or think, a life so full of the fiery light of God that darkness of every kind flees from its very presence.

I’m aware that there are some religious folks who would rather I didn’t say such things. They don’t think we should ever expect anything grand and glorious in this world—just in the world to come. They try to keep people from getting their hopes up. But I want you to know something right now: My greatest intention is to get your hopes up. When I say “hope,” I’m not talking about the weak, wistful kind of wishing the world calls hope. I’m talking about real, Bible hope, the kind of hope the Apostle Paul was referring to when he said: “For I know that this shall turn to my salvation through your prayer, and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ [the Anointed of God], according to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed...” (Philippians 1:19-20).

The terms earnest expectation and hope found in that scripture come from two Greek words, each of which can be accurately translated hope. Paul put both of them side by side for emphasis. If you’ll research them, you’ll find they mean a confident expectation, a happy anticipation of good, a strained expectancy and eager longing. They refer to an expectation so strong that it absorbs all your attention.

Devotions : Jerry Savelle - You Are God’s Most Prized Possession

God is always mindful of you!
“When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is man that you are mindful of him, the son of man, that you care for him? For you made him a little lower than the angels, and crowned him with glory and honor” (Psalm 8:3-5, NIV).

Have you ever just stopped and looked around at God’s creation? A beautiful evening sunset, a clear, star filled night, mountain scenery that takes your breath away!

The psalmist is saying, Lord, You’re so magnificent and creative, why would you have anything to do with man? Why would you be so mindful of him?

You are God’s most prized possession! In fact, in His mind, you are His prized possession above the stars, above the moon, above the heavens, above all His creative handiwork.

An artist may display the many wonderful, creative pieces he designs, but there’s always one that is his most prized possession. That’s the way God feels about YOU!
Confession: Thank you, Father, that You are always mindful of me, thinking thoughts of love, good, and favor toward me.

News : South African Pastor Makes Congregation Eat Grass To Be Closer To God

Pretoria - A South African church leader has come under fire after reports that he made members of his congregation eat grass. Pastor Lesego Daniel, who is based in Garankuwa, north of Pretoria, told dozens of followers to eat grass because “it will bring them closer to God”.

Daniel made headlines globally after images were shown of his followers laying down in a field and furiously munching grass. Further images were then shown of some followers vomiting. The news has been carried by UK media and many South African organisations.

People were apparently been drawn to the pastor’s church, Rabboni Centre Ministries, after it was claimed that he performed miracles. One of Daniel’s followers, Doreen Kgatle, says she had a stroke two years ago and could not walk but since eating the grass she regained the strength in her legs. But many people have started questioning Daniel’s credentials and complained on the ministry’s Facebook page.

“No man of God would tell the people of his flock to eat grass... this man is not of God, run away as far as you can from him and his teachings,” said one user.

“Did you yourself taste that grass? Why feed it to your congregation? This is purely abuse of power and betraying God's word!” says another.
Daniel has not responded to the complaints or queries but some of his followers have come to his defence. “I don't care wat peaple say even my family members come nd intimidate me but i stand firm in the word of God nd tell them this is my pastor sent to me nd the nations by God to God be the Glory [sic],” said one church member.
